This Sumbing trekking is physically graded Challenging.Normal actual active hiking hours per day indicated in itinerary through trekking altitude gain approx 600 -1300 m on ascent per day plus trekking altitude lose approx 1900 m.You carry weight approx 8-10 kilos of you own personal belonging and personal equipment plus mineral water for the hiking days and necessary personal safety gears.
We hike Sumbing volcano via Garung on western flank the volcano,the route is classified Moderate. At beginning,we walk through village,then walk on cobbled road of local highfarmland heading for mountain forest line,then enter to mountain forest ecosystem and hike through typically soil path passage of forest, then
more grassy ecosystem.
As we enter to more sub alpin ecosystem, the path mostly dominated by loose rock separating on the ground heading for rocky knoll where we should do little bit walk down under shadow of towering volcanic rock formation.The crux of the track is actually on our second summit push where hand absolutely functioned to keep balance while making progress upward on short section of it.Route is marked, but not protected.
If you have been not actively hiking for a year or do active sport in irregular period and in order to fully enjoy your climbing at Sindoro, it's strongly suggested to prepare yourself by walking combine with other active sports:jogging, swimming and/or cycling plus extra flexibility and strength training at least 4-10 weeks prior to departure on a basis of 2 to 3 times weekly included several days active rest prior to your departure date.
