OLD VOLCANO LAWU TREKKING



PHYSICAL LEVEL Moderate
ROUTE LEVEL: Easy (2)
PREPARATION: 4-8 Weeks, 2-3 time basis


PHYSICAL DEMAND : This Lawu trekking is physically graded moderate.Normal actual hiking hours per day indicated in itinerary through trekking altitude gain 460 - 1200 m on ascent per day plus trekking altitude lose 200 m - 1460 m per day hike along maximum altitude 3265 m.You carry weight approx 8 kilos of you own personal belonging and personal equipment plus 3-4 liters mineral water for the hiking days.We carry lighter on summit push as we store unnecessary item at camp site,and take it/them back on way down.

ROUTE DEMAND : This Lawu hiking route is classified Easy (2).We walk mostly on wide ( 1/2 - 1 m path) paved  stony path withing altitude approx 1800 - 3000 m through pine mountain forest and sub alpin ecosystem. As we get closer to summit,the path transformed it self in to more gravel and therefore the path get harder.Route is marked and several crux of the paved path are protected by iron on both sides of paved stony path.

PREPARATION : If you have been not actively hiking for a year or do active sport in irregular period and
in order to fully enjoy your multiday hiking at Lawu, it's strongly suggested to prepare yourself by walking combine with other active sports:jogging, swimming and/or cycling plus extra flexibility and strength training at least 4-8 weeks prior to departure on a basis of 2 to 3 times weekly included several days active rest prior to your departure date.
